The inner and outer rings of tapered roller bearings have tapered raceways, and the rollers are also tapered. If the conical surface is extended, its vertex intersects at a point on the axis of the bearing. Therefore, the roller of the tapered roller bearing can achieve pure rolling on the raceway.

Tapered roller bearings are separated bearings, and the inner components of the bearing (consisting of a roller, cage and inner ring) and the outer ring can be separated. Therefore, it can be easily installed on the journal and bearing seat.

Tapered roller bearings are suitable for bearing radial loads, unidirectional axial loads and radial and axial combined loads. The axial load capacity of tapered roller bearings depends on the contact Angle α, that is, the Angle of the outer ring raceway, the greater the contact Angle α, the greater the axial load capacity.

Generally tapered roller bearings do not allow Angle errors, but the surface of the roller and raceway can be specially designed to allow 2 ‘~ 4’ Angle errors.

Tapered roller bearings manufactured in addition to the metric series, there are also British series. The metric series codes and dimensions comply with IS355:1977 (E) and the inch series comply with AFBMA standards.

According to the number of roller rows, tapered roller bearings manufactured by TG have different structural forms such as single row, double row and four row.

Single row tapered roller bearing

Single-row tapered roller bearings can withstand axial loads in one direction. And can limit the axial displacement of the shaft relative to the bearing seat in one direction. Even under the action of pure radial load, the tapered roller bearing will produce additional axial component force inside, at this time, there needs to be an equal amount of reverse force to balance with it. Two single-row tapered roller bearings of the same structure are usually installed face to face or back-to-back to each other in two supports.
